Kalaparru Toll Plaza Rates

The following toll charges are applicable from July 18, 2026, to March 31, 2027.

Vehicle category Single journey Return journey Monthly pass
Car, jeep or van ₹100 ₹150 ₹3,315
Light commercial vehicle or minibus ₹160 ₹240 ₹5,350
Bus or two-axle truck ₹335 ₹505 ₹11,215

Vehicle with seven or more axles ₹640 ₹965 ₹21,405

A car, jeep or van pays ₹100 for one crossing through Kalaparru Toll Plaza.

An eligible outward and return journey costs ₹150 when both crossings are completed within the permitted 24-hour period using the same FASTag.

The ₹3,315 monthly pass is the standard pass for frequent car users. It is different from the concessional local pass available to qualifying residents living near the toll plaza.

Why Some Websites Show Lower Kalaparru Toll Rates

Kalaparru’s tariff was revised from July 18, 2026. Older toll calculators may still show the previous car charge of approximately ₹75 for a single journey and ₹110 for a return journey.

The latest listed car charges are:

  • Single journey: ₹100
  • Eligible return journey: ₹150
  • Standard monthly pass: ₹3,315

Drivers should check the tariff board or FASTag transaction message rather than relying on an older route calculator.

Single and Return-Journey Charges Explained

The ₹100 car rate applies to one crossing through Kalaparru Toll Plaza.

The ₹150 return rate covers one outward crossing and one eligible return crossing through the same plaza. It does not mean that ₹150 is charged separately in both directions.

For example, the FASTag system may deduct:

  • First crossing: ₹100
  • Eligible return crossing: ₹50
  • Total charge for both crossings: ₹150

The return journey must normally be completed within 24 hours of the first crossing.

When the vehicle returns after the permitted period, the second journey may be treated as a new single crossing and charged another ₹100.

Drivers should retain both FASTag transaction messages until the return journey is complete.

Local Commercial Vehicle Rates

Reduced rates are listed for qualifying commercial vehicles registered within the district where Kalaparru Toll Plaza is located.

Vehicle category Local commercial rate
Commercial car, jeep or van ₹50
Light commercial vehicle or minibus ₹80
Bus or two-axle truck ₹170
Commercial vehicle with up to three axles ₹185
Four-to-six-axle vehicle ₹265
Heavy construction or earth-moving equipment ₹265
Vehicle with seven or more axles ₹320

A vehicle registered in Eluru district may not receive the concession automatically.

The owner may be required to provide:

  • Vehicle registration certificate
  • Valid commercial permit
  • Business or residential-address proof
  • Active FASTag linked to the vehicle
  • Proof of regular local operation
  • Completed application
  • Approval from the toll administration

Commercial vehicle owners should complete the required verification before expecting the reduced deduction.

Local Resident Monthly Pass

A person living within 20 kilometres of Kalaparru Toll Plaza may apply for a concessional monthly pass for a privately owned, non-commercial car, jeep or van.

The local monthly-pass charge for the 2026–27 financial year is: ₹360 per month

Applicants may be required to submit:

  • Vehicle registration certificate
  • Aadhaar card or another identity document
  • Current residential-address proof
  • Active FASTag linked to the vehicle
  • Registered mobile number
  • Recent photograph
  • Completed local-pass application

The toll administration must verify that the residence is situated within 20 kilometres of the plaza.

The pass is linked to a particular resident, vehicle and FASTag. Merely owning a vehicle registered in Eluru district does not automatically activate the concession.

Kalaparru and Vedurupavuluru Toll Plazas Are Different

Kalaparru Toll Plaza and Vedurupavuluru Toll Plaza are separate toll collection points.

Kalaparru is located near Eluru on the Gundugolanu–Vijayawada section. Vedurupavuluru is associated with the newer Vijayawada West Bypass.

A vehicle using the West Bypass and then continuing towards Eluru may receive separate deductions at both toll points.

These transactions are not automatically duplicates because the two plazas cover different highway sections.

Pottipadu Toll Plaza previously operated on the older Vijayawada-side alignment. It was replaced by the newer bypass toll arrangement in 2026. Drivers should therefore check the exact plaza name shown in the FASTag message.

FASTag and Payment Information

FASTag is the standard payment method at Kalaparru Toll Plaza.

Before travelling, ensure that the FASTag:

  • Is active and has sufficient balance
  • Is correctly attached to the windscreen
  • Is linked to the correct registration number
  • Shows the correct vehicle category
  • Has completed the required verification
  • Is not damaged, suspended or blacklisted

Maintain sufficient distance from the vehicle ahead while entering a toll lane. Driving too close may prevent the scanner from identifying each FASTag correctly.

The transaction message should display Kalaparru Toll Plaza or plaza code 352027.

An incorrect deduction can be reported through the FASTag-issuing bank, the RajmargYatra platform or National Highway helpline 1033.

FASTag Annual Pass

The NHAI FASTag Annual Pass costs ₹3,075 for the 2026–27 financial year.

It is available for eligible privately registered, non-commercial cars, jeeps and vans. The pass remains valid for one year from activation or 200 eligible toll crossings, whichever occurs first.

One passage through Kalaparru Toll Plaza normally counts as one crossing. Travelling through the plaza and later returning generally uses two crossings.

Before relying on the pass, drivers should confirm that:

  • Kalaparru appears in the current eligible-plaza list
  • The vehicle is privately registered
  • The vehicle is non-commercial
  • The registered category is car, jeep or van
  • The existing FASTag is active
  • The tag is linked to the correct vehicle number

The Annual Pass is activated on the vehicle’s existing FASTag and cannot be transferred to another vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Why did the Kalaparru car toll increase to ₹100?

A: Normally, yes. Vehicles using the main NH 16 route between Eluru, Hanuman Junction and Vijayawada generally cross Kalaparru Toll Plaza.

Q3: Why were both Kalaparru and Vedurupavuluru tolls deducted?

A: They are separate toll plazas covering different highway sections. A vehicle using the Vijayawada West Bypass and continuing towards Eluru may legitimately cross both.
