Vehicle category Single journey Return journey Monthly pass
Car, jeep or van ₹95 ₹140 ₹3,120
Light commercial vehicle or minibus ₹150 ₹225 ₹5,045

Vehicle with seven or more axles ₹605 ₹910 ₹20,170

A car, jeep or van pays ₹95 for one crossing through Banskopa Toll Plaza.

An eligible outward and return journey costs ₹140 when the second crossing is completed within 24 hours using the same FASTag.

The ₹3,120 monthly pass is the standard pass for frequent car users. It is different from the concessional local monthly pass available to eligible residents.

Single and Return-Journey Charges Explained

The ₹95 car rate applies to one passage through Banskopa Toll Plaza.

The ₹140 return rate covers one outward crossing and one eligible return crossing. It does not mean that ₹140 is deducted during each passage.

A normal FASTag transaction may appear as:

  • First crossing: ₹95
  • Eligible return crossing: ₹45
  • Total charge for both crossings: ₹140

The same active FASTag should be used for both journeys.

A vehicle returning after the permitted 24-hour period may be charged another complete single-journey toll of ₹95.

Drivers should retain both FASTag transaction messages until the return journey has been completed.

Local Commercial Vehicle Rates

Reduced toll rates are listed for qualifying commercial vehicles registered within the district where the toll plaza is located.

Vehicle category Local commercial rate
Commercial car, jeep or van ₹45
Light commercial vehicle or minibus ₹75
Bus or two-axle truck ₹160
Commercial vehicle with up to three axles ₹175
Four-to-six-axle vehicle ₹250
Heavy construction or earth-moving equipment ₹250
Vehicle with seven or more axles ₹305

A vehicle registered in Paschim Bardhaman district may not receive the reduced rate automatically.

The owner may need to submit:

  • Vehicle registration certificate
  • Valid commercial permit
  • Registered residential or business-address proof
  • Active FASTag linked to the vehicle
  • Proof of regular local operation
  • Completed concession application
  • Documents requested by the toll administration

The reduced rate is normally activated only after the toll office verifies the vehicle and approves the application.

Local Resident Monthly Pass

An eligible person living within 20 kilometres of Banskopa Toll Plaza may apply for a concessional monthly pass for a privately owned, non-commercial car, jeep or van.

The listed local monthly-pass charge for 2026–27 is:

₹350 per month

Applicants may be required to submit:

  • Vehicle registration certificate
  • Aadhaar card or another identity document
  • Current residential-address proof
  • Active FASTag linked to the vehicle
  • Registered mobile number
  • Recent photograph
  • Completed local-pass application

The toll administration must verify that the applicant lives within the prescribed 20-kilometre distance.

The pass is linked to one resident, vehicle and FASTag. Having a vehicle registered in Paschim Bardhaman district does not automatically qualify its owner for the local pass.

Banskopa and Palsit Toll Plazas Are Different

Banskopa Toll Plaza and Palsit Toll Plaza are separate toll collection points on NH 19.

Banskopa is situated near Durgapur on the Barwa Adda–Panagarh project section.

Palsit Toll Plaza is located farther east near Bardhaman and covers another portion of the Kolkata–Durgapur highway corridor.

A vehicle travelling between Kolkata and Durgapur, Asansol or Dhanbad may receive deductions at both plazas.

Separate FASTag deductions at Banskopa and Palsit are therefore not automatically duplicate charges. Drivers should compare:

  • Exact toll-plaza name
  • Plaza code
  • Transaction date and time
  • Amount deducted
  • Route followed

Banskopa Toll Plaza’s code is 370001.

FASTag and Payment Information

FASTag is the standard payment method at Banskopa Toll Plaza.

Before travelling, ensure that the FASTag:

  • Is active and has sufficient balance
  • Is properly attached to the windscreen
  • Is linked to the correct registration number
  • Shows the correct vehicle category
  • Has completed the required verification
  • Is not damaged, suspended or blacklisted

Maintain sufficient distance from the vehicle ahead while entering the toll lane. Banskopa handles considerable truck traffic, and following a large vehicle too closely may interfere with tag scanning.

The transaction message may display Banskopa, Banskopa Plaza, Barwa Adda Expressway or plaza code 370001.

An incorrect deduction can be reported through the FASTag-issuing bank, RajmargYatra or National Highway helpline 1033.

FASTag Annual Pass

The FASTag Annual Pass costs ₹3,075 for the 2026–27 financial year.

It is available for eligible privately registered, non-commercial cars, jeeps and vans. The pass is valid for one year from activation or 200 eligible toll-plaza crossings, whichever occurs first.

One passage through Banskopa normally counts as one crossing. Passing through the plaza and returning through it generally counts as two crossings.

Before relying on the pass, drivers should confirm that:

  • Banskopa appears in the current eligible-plaza list
  • The vehicle is privately registered and non-commercial
  • Its registered category is car, jeep or van
  • The FASTag is active and linked to the complete vehicle number
  • The tag is properly attached to the same vehicle

The pass is activated on the existing FASTag and cannot be transferred to another vehicle.

Highway Facilities and Emergency Contacts

The project listing records multiple truck lay-bys on the Barwa Adda–Panagarh section and two weighbridges. A dedicated public rest area is not listed directly at Banskopa Toll Plaza.

  • Morning and evening industrial traffic
  • Friday and Sunday travel periods
  • Public holidays and long weekends
  • Durga Puja and other festival journeys
  • Heavy truck movement
  • Road maintenance or diversions
  • Monsoon rainfall
  • Foggy winter mornings

Choose the correct toll lane early and avoid sudden lane changes near the booths.

NH 19 around Durgapur carries trucks, trailers, buses, private cars and industrial vehicles. Maintain additional distance from large commercial vehicles.

During heavy rain, reduce speed and allow more braking distance. Winter fog can also reduce visibility around Panagarh, Rajbandh and Durgapur.

Do not stop near the toll lanes or on the active highway shoulder except during a genuine emergency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Why does a FASTag message show NH 2 instead of NH 19?

NH 2 was the former highway number used for the Kolkata–Durgapur–Dhanbad corridor. The same road is now part of NH 19, although older toll systems may continue to display NH 2.

Q2. Will a Kolkata-to-Durgapur journey cross both Palsit and Banskopa toll plazas?

Normally, yes. Vehicles following NH 19 generally cross Palsit near Bardhaman and Banskopa near Durgapur. They cover separate highway sections.

Q3. Why did FASTag deduct ₹95 first and ₹45 during the return?

The eligible car return rate is ₹140 in total. The system may deduct ₹95 during the first crossing and the remaining ₹45 when the vehicle returns within 24 hours using the same FASTag.

Q4. How can an incorrect Banskopa FASTag deduction be challenged?

Save the transaction message and note the plaza name, code, time, amount and vehicle number. Report the transaction through the FASTag-issuing bank, RajmargYatra or helpline 1033. Include both messages when disputing a return-journey charge.
