The standard monthly pass for a car, jeep or van costs ₹3,295. This is different from the special local monthly pass available to qualifying residents.
Single and Return-Journey Charges Explained
The ₹100 car charge applies to one passage through Surajbari Toll Plaza.
The ₹150 return rate covers one outward crossing and one eligible return crossing. It does not mean that ₹150 is charged separately in both directions.
A typical FASTag deduction may appear as:
- First crossing: ₹100
- Return crossing within 24 hours: ₹50
- Total outward and return charge: ₹150
The same active FASTag should be used for both journeys.
When a vehicle returns after the permitted period, the second crossing may be treated as another single journey and charged ₹100.
Drivers should keep both FASTag transaction messages until the return journey has been completed.
Local Commercial Vehicle Rates
Reduced rates are available for qualifying commercial vehicles registered within the district where Surajbari Toll Plaza is located.
| Vehicle category | Local commercial rate |

The approved concession is normally linked to the particular vehicle and FASTag.

Surajbari and Samakhiyali Toll Plazas Are Different
Surajbari Toll Plaza and Samakhiyali Toll Plaza are separate toll collection points.
Surajbari Toll Plaza is located at Km 286.655 on the Garamore–Samakhiyali section of NH 27.
Samakhiyali Toll Plaza is located farther west at Km 308.600 on the Samakhiyali–Gandhidham section, which is associated with NH 41.
A vehicle travelling from Morbi towards Gandhidham or Kandla may cross both plazas.
Separate FASTag deductions at Surajbari and Samakhiyali are therefore not automatically duplicate charges. Each plaza covers a different highway section.
Drivers should compare:
- Exact plaza name
- Plaza code
- Transaction time
- Amount deducted
- Route followed
Surajbari Toll Plaza’s code is 96001.
FASTag and Payment Information
FASTag is the standard payment method at Surajbari Toll Plaza.
Before travelling, drivers should ensure that the FASTag:
- Is active and has sufficient balance
- Is properly attached to the windscreen
- Is linked to the correct registration number
- Shows the correct vehicle category
- Has completed the required verification
- Is not damaged, suspended or blacklisted
Maintain sufficient distance from the vehicle ahead while entering a toll lane. This is particularly important behind trucks and trailers because driving too close may interfere with tag scanning.
The transaction message should display Surajbari Toll Plaza or plaza code 96001.
An incorrect deduction can be reported through the FASTag-issuing bank, RajmargYatra or National Highway helpline 1033.
FASTag Annual Pass
The NHAI FASTag Annual Pass costs ₹3,075 for the 2026–27 financial year.
It is available for eligible privately registered, non-commercial cars, jeeps and vans. The pass remains valid for one year from activation or 200 eligible toll-plaza crossings, whichever occurs first.
One passage through Surajbari Toll Plaza normally counts as one crossing. Passing through the plaza and later returning generally counts as two crossings.
Before purchasing or relying on the pass, drivers should confirm that:
- Surajbari Fee Plaza appears in the eligible-plaza list
- The vehicle is privately registered and non-commercial
- The registered category is car, jeep or van
- The FASTag is active and linked to the complete registration number
- The FASTag is properly attached to the same vehicle
The Annual Pass is activated on the existing FASTag and cannot be transferred to another vehicle.

Two truck lay-bys are listed near Km 269.500, with one facility on each side of the highway.
No dedicated public rest area is listed directly at Surajbari Toll Plaza. The Gujarat transport authorities have provided static weighbridge facilities in the corridor.

- Port-related truck movement
- Tourist journeys towards Kutch
- Rann of Kutch tourism season
- Road repairs or diversions
- Strong winds near the Surajbari bridge

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Why do some records show NH 8A instead of NH 27?
NH 8A was the former highway number for this corridor. The Garamore–Samakhiyali section containing Surajbari Toll Plaza is now generally identified as NH 27.
Q2. Will a Morbi-to-Gandhidham journey cross two toll plazas?
Normally, yes. Vehicles using the main highway may cross Surajbari Toll Plaza on NH 27 and Samakhiyali Toll Plaza on the subsequent Samakhiyali–Gandhidham section.
Q3. Why did FASTag deduct ₹100 first and ₹50 during the return?
The eligible car return rate is ₹150 in total. The system may deduct ₹100 during the first crossing and the remaining ₹50 when the vehicle returns within 24 hours using the same FASTag.
Q4. How can an incorrect Surajbari FASTag deduction be challenged?
Save the transaction message and note the plaza name, date, time, amount and vehicle number. Report it through the FASTag-issuing bank, RajmargYatra or helpline 1033. Include both transaction records when disputing a return-journey charge.
