Narmada Bridge New Toll Plaza Rates

The following charges are applicable from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027.

Vehicle category Single journey Return journey Monthly pass
Car, jeep or van ₹30 ₹45 ₹1,020
Light commercial vehicle or minibus ₹50 ₹75 ₹1,645

Vehicle with seven or more axles ₹195 ₹295 ₹6,575

A car, jeep or van pays ₹30 for one crossing. An eligible return journey costs ₹45 when both crossings are completed within the permitted 24-hour period.

The standard monthly pass for a car, jeep or van costs ₹1,020. It is different from the concessional local-resident pass available to eligible people living near the plaza.

Single and Return-Journey Charges Explained

The ₹30 car rate applies to one crossing through Narmada Bridge New Toll Plaza.

The ₹45 return rate covers one eligible outward and return journey. It does not mean that ₹45 is charged separately in each direction.

For example, a car travelling from Bharuch towards Ankleshwar and returning through the plaza within 24 hours may pay ₹45 in total instead of two separate ₹30 charges.

The same active FASTag should be used for both journeys. The system may deduct ₹30 during the first crossing and the remaining ₹15 during the return crossing.

A vehicle returning after the permitted 24-hour period may be charged another ₹30 single-journey toll.

Local Commercial Vehicle Rates

Reduced toll rates may apply to eligible commercial vehicles registered in Bharuch district.

Vehicle category Local commercial rate
Car, jeep or van used commercially ₹15
Light commercial vehicle or minibus ₹25
Bus or two-axle truck ₹50
Commercial vehicle with up to three axles ₹55
Four-to-six-axle vehicle ₹80
Heavy construction or earth-moving equipment ₹80
Vehicle with seven or more axles ₹100

A Bharuch district registration number does not necessarily activate the concession automatically. The owner may be required to submit:

  • Vehicle registration certificate
  • Valid commercial permit
  • Residential or business-address proof
  • Active FASTag linked to the vehicle
  • Documents showing local commercial operation
  • Application approved by the toll administration

Drivers should confirm approval before expecting the reduced amount to be deducted.

Local Resident Monthly Pass

A person living within 20 kilometres of Narmada Bridge New Toll Plaza may qualify for a concessional monthly pass for a privately owned, non-commercial car, jeep or van.

The local monthly-pass charge for the 2026–27 financial year is:

₹360 per month

Applicants may be asked to provide:

  • Vehicle registration certificate
  • Aadhaar card or another identity document
  • Current residential-address proof
  • Active FASTag linked to the vehicle
  • Registered mobile number
  • Recent photograph
  • Completed application form

The toll office must verify that the applicant lives within the permitted distance. The pass is linked to a particular resident, vehicle and FASTag.

Owning a vehicle registered in Bharuch district does not by itself guarantee approval.

Drivers joining from Bharuch city may use the appropriate connection through Zadeshwar or another authorised NH 48 junction.

2. From Ankleshwar

Travel north on NH 48 towards Bharuch, Vadodara and Ahmedabad.

Continue beyond the Ankleshwar highway connections towards the Narmada River. The toll plaza is reached before or near the main bridge crossing.

3. From Vadodara

Travel south on NH 48 towards Karjan, Bharuch, Ankleshwar and Surat.

Continue through the Vadodara–Bharuch section. The complete journey may involve Bharthan Karjan Toll Plaza in addition to the Narmada Bridge toll.

Remain on the Surat-bound carriageway while approaching Bharuch.

4. From Surat

Travel north on NH 48 towards Kosamba, Ankleshwar, Bharuch and Vadodara.

Continue through the Ankleshwar section. Follow signs for Bharuch and Narmada Bridge while approaching the toll plaza.

5. From Ahmedabad

Travel towards Vadodara using National Expressway 1 or the appropriate NH 48 route.

Continue from Vadodara towards Bharuch and Surat. The journey includes other toll facilities, so the ₹30 Narmada Bridge charge is not the total toll between Ahmedabad and Bharuch.

Continue towards Ankleshwar and Bharuch. A Mumbai–Bharuch journey includes several toll plazas in Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Narmada Bridge, New Bridge and Golden Bridge

Several bridges cross the Narmada River around Bharuch and Ankleshwar. Their names can cause confusion.

The New Narmada Bridge, also called the Third Narmada Bridge, is the modern extradosed bridge constructed as part of the NH 48 widening project. It opened to traffic in 2017.

The Sardar Bridge refers to the older highway bridge system beside it. Traffic arrangements may use different bridge structures according to direction, maintenance work and temporary diversions.

The Golden Bridge is the historic bridge connecting Bharuch and Ankleshwar through the older city route. It is separate from the NH 48 toll project.

The toll collected at Mandva relates to the National Highway bridge project. It should not be understood as a charge for visiting or using every bridge in Bharuch.

Why the Toll Is Lower Than Nearby Plazas

The tollable project length at Mandva is only about 6.5 kilometres. It mainly covers the bridge and its approach section between approximately Km 192 and Km 198.

Other toll plazas on NH 48 may collect charges for highway sections extending over 50 kilometres or more. Their rates are therefore considerably higher.

A vehicle travelling between Vadodara and Surat may receive separate deductions at:

  • Bharthan Karjan Toll Plaza
  • Narmada Bridge or Mandva Toll Plaza
  • Choryasi Toll Plaza
  • Other applicable plazas depending on the route

These deductions are not automatically duplicates because each plaza covers a different project section.

FASTag and Payment Information

FASTag is the standard payment method at Narmada Bridge New Toll Plaza. Before travelling, ensure that the tag:

  • Is active and has sufficient balance
  • Is correctly fixed to the windscreen
  • Is linked to the correct registration number
  • Shows the correct vehicle category
  • Has completed the required KYC
  • Is not damaged, suspended or blacklisted

Maintain enough distance from the vehicle ahead while entering the toll lane. Driving too close may prevent the scanner from identifying each FASTag separately.

Check the transaction message after crossing. It may display Mandva, Narmada Bridge, Narmada Bridge New or plaza code 336006.

Save the FASTag messages when using the return-journey concession.

FASTag Annual Pass

Eligible privately registered, non-commercial cars, jeeps and vans may use the NHAI FASTag Annual Pass at approved National Highway and National Expressway fee plazas.

The Annual Pass costs ₹3,075 for the 2026–27 financial year. It remains valid for one year from activation or 200 eligible fee-plaza crossings, whichever is completed first.

Each one-way passage through Narmada Bridge Toll Plaza normally counts as one crossing. Passing through the plaza and later returning generally counts as two crossings.

Drivers should confirm that Mandva Fee Plaza appears in the eligible-plaza list before purchasing or relying on the pass.

Because the normal Mandva car toll is only ₹30, people who use this plaza alone should compare their expected number of crossings before deciding whether the Annual Pass offers good value.

Highway Facilities and Emergency Contacts

The current listing does not show a dedicated rest area, truck lay-by or weighbridge directly at Mandva Toll Plaza. Fuel stations, food outlets and other facilities are available along the Bharuch–Ankleshwar highway corridor.

Traffic and Safety Tips

The Narmada Bridge section carries heavy passenger and commercial traffic between Vadodara and Surat.

Traffic may increase during:

  • Morning and evening peak hours
  • Friday and Sunday travel periods
  • Public holidays and festivals
  • Heavy truck movement
  • Bridge maintenance work
  • Accidents or vehicle breakdowns
  • Heavy monsoon rainfall

Choose the correct lane early and avoid sudden lane changes near the booths.

Do not stop on the bridge for photographs or sightseeing. A stopped vehicle can cause congestion and serious accidents.

During heavy rain, reduce speed and maintain additional distance. Check local traffic advisories when the Narmada River is in flood or when maintenance work affects bridge lanes.
