Kathpur Toll Plaza Rates

The following charges are applicable from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027.

Vehicle category Single journey Return journey Monthly pass Local commercial rate
Car, jeep or van ₹70 ₹105 ₹2,385 ₹35
Light commercial vehicle or minibus ₹115 ₹175 ₹3,850 ₹60
Bus or two-axle truck ₹240 ₹365 ₹8,070 ₹120

Heavy construction or earth-moving equipment ₹380 ₹570 ₹12,655 ₹190
Vehicle with seven or more axles ₹460 ₹695 ₹15,405 ₹230

A car, jeep or van pays ₹70 for one crossing through Kathpur Toll Plaza.

An eligible outward and return journey costs ₹105 when the return crossing is completed within 24 hours using the same active FASTag.

The standard monthly pass for a car, jeep or van costs ₹2,385. It is intended for frequent users and is different from the concessional ₹360 monthly pass available to eligible residents living within 20 kilometres of the plaza.

Single and Return-Journey Charges Explained

The ₹70 car charge applies to one passage through Kathpur Toll Plaza.

The ₹105 return rate covers one outward crossing and one eligible return crossing. It does not mean that ₹105 is charged separately in each direction.

A normal FASTag transaction for a car may appear as:

  • First crossing: ₹70
  • Eligible return crossing within 24 hours: ₹35
  • Total charge for both crossings: ₹105

The same vehicle and FASTag should be used for both passages. When the return occurs after the permitted 24-hour period, the second passage may be treated as a fresh single journey and charged ₹70.

Keep both FASTag transaction messages until the journey is complete. The message should normally show Kathpur Toll Plaza or plaza code 336019.

Local Commercial Vehicle Rates

The final column in the tariff table lists reduced single-journey charges for eligible commercial vehicles registered within the district of the toll plaza.

The listed local-commercial charges are:

  • Commercial car, jeep or van: ₹35
  • Light commercial vehicle or minibus: ₹60
  • Bus or two-axle truck: ₹120
  • Vehicle with up to three axles: ₹130
  • Four-to-six-axle vehicle: ₹190
  • Heavy construction or earth-moving equipment: ₹190
  • Vehicle with seven or more axles: ₹230

A Sabarkantha registration number alone may not automatically activate the concession. Eligibility can depend on the registration certificate, commercial permit, registered address, vehicle category, route of operation and verification by the toll administration.

Taxi, bus, truck and goods-vehicle operators should contact the toll control room before relying on the reduced rate. The concession works only after the vehicle and FASTag have been correctly approved and mapped.

Local Resident Monthly Pass

A person living within 20 kilometres of Kathpur Toll Plaza may apply for a concessional monthly pass for a privately owned, non-commercial car, jeep or van.

The local monthly-pass charge for the 2026–27 financial year is ₹360 per month.

Applicants may be asked to submit:

  • Vehicle registration certificate
  • Aadhaar card or another identity document
  • Current residential-address proof
  • Active FASTag linked to the vehicle
  • Registered mobile number
  • Recent photograph
  • Completed local-pass application

The toll administration must verify that the applicant’s residence is within the prescribed 20-kilometre distance. The pass is linked to one resident, one vehicle and one FASTag and cannot normally be used for another vehicle.

Directions to Kathpur Toll Plaza

1. From Ahmedabad

Travel north towards Chiloda using the most suitable Ahmedabad city, Naroda or Sardar Patel Ring Road connection. Join NH 48 towards Chiloda, Prantij and Himmatnagar.

Continue on the Himmatnagar-bound carriageway. Follow the advance toll-plaza signs and select the correct FASTag lane early.

2. From Gandhinagar

Travel towards Chiloda Circle and join NH 48 northbound towards Prantij and Himmatnagar.

Remain on the main highway. The plaza is reached before Himmatnagar when travelling from the Gandhinagar side.

3. From Chiloda

Join NH 48 towards Prantij, Himmatnagar and Shamlaji.

Continue north on the main carriageway and follow the signs for Kathpur Toll Plaza.

4. From Prantij

Use an authorised local connection to join NH 48.

Vehicles travelling towards Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar should use the southbound carriageway. Vehicles travelling towards Himmatnagar, Shamlaji or Udaipur should use the northbound carriageway. Whether a short local journey crosses the toll plaza depends on the entry junction and destination.

5. From Himmatnagar

Travel south on NH 48 towards Prantij, Chiloda, Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.

Stay on the Ahmedabad-bound carriageway. Kathpur Toll Plaza is encountered on the Himmatnagar–Chiloda section.

6. From Shamlaji or Udaipur

Travel south on NH 48 towards Himmatnagar and Ahmedabad.

Continue beyond Himmatnagar towards Prantij and Chiloda. A longer trip from Rajasthan may cross other toll plazas before reaching Kathpur, so each FASTag message should be checked by plaza name and code.

Why Some Records Show Km 472 and Others Show Km 518.285

Older NHAI documents identify Kathpur Toll Plaza at Km 472.000 on the former NH 8 Himmatnagar–Chiloda section. Current toll databases list the plaza at Km 518.285 on NH 48.

These entries refer to Kathpur Fee Plaza on the same highway corridor. For FASTag complaints or navigation, the most reliable identifiers are the name Kathpur, the Himmatnagar–Chiloda section and plaza code 336019.

Kathpur and Vantada Toll Plazas Are Different

Kathpur and Vantada are separate toll plazas on different parts of NH 48 in north Gujarat.

Kathpur serves the Himmatnagar–Chiloda section. Vantada is farther north on the route towards Shamlaji and Rajasthan. A vehicle travelling only between Ahmedabad and Himmatnagar normally encounters Kathpur, while a longer Ahmedabad–Udaipur journey may cross both plazas.

Separate FASTag deductions at Kathpur and Vantada are therefore not automatically duplicate charges. Compare the plaza name, code, transaction time, amount and route before filing a complaint.

FASTag and Payment Information

FASTag is the standard payment method at Kathpur Toll Plaza.

Before reaching the plaza, make sure the FASTag:

  • Is active and has sufficient balance
  • Is correctly attached to the windscreen
  • Is linked to the correct vehicle registration number
  • Shows the correct vehicle category
  • Has completed the required KYC or verification
  • Is not damaged, suspended or blacklisted

Enter the lane slowly and maintain enough distance from the vehicle ahead. Following a bus or truck too closely can interfere with tag scanning.

A vehicle entering a FASTag lane without a valid and functional FASTag may be charged twice the normal applicable fee under the National Highway fee rules.

For an incorrect or duplicate deduction, keep the transaction message and report the issue through the FASTag-issuing bank, the RajmargYatra application or National Highway helpline 1033.

FASTag Annual Pass

The NHAI FASTag Annual Pass costs ₹3,075 for the 2026–27 financial year.

It is available for eligible privately registered, non-commercial cars, jeeps and vans at participating National Highway and National Expressway fee plazas. The pass remains valid for one year from activation or 200 eligible fee-plaza crossings, whichever occurs first.

Before relying on the Annual Pass at Kathpur, confirm that activation is complete on the vehicle’s existing FASTag and that Kathpur appears in the current eligible-plaza list. One passage through the plaza normally counts as one crossing, so an outward and return journey generally uses two crossings.

The Annual Pass is vehicle-specific and cannot be transferred to another vehicle.

Highway Facilities and Emergency Contacts

Current plaza listings do not show a dedicated public rest area, truck lay-by or static weighbridge at Kathpur Toll Plaza. Fuel stations, food outlets, repair shops and other services are available around Prantij, Himmatnagar and the wider NH 48 corridor.

  • Festival and vacation travel
  • Heavy truck and long-distance bus movement
  • Travel towards Shamlaji and Rajasthan

Q2. Why did FASTag deduct ₹70 first and ₹35 on the return?

Q3. Will an Ahmedabad-to-Himmatnagar journey cross Kathpur Toll Plaza?

Normally, yes. Vehicles using NH 48 through Chiloda and Prantij towards Himmatnagar generally cross Kathpur Toll Plaza.

Q4. How can a nearby resident obtain the ₹360 monthly pass?

The vehicle owner should contact the toll office and submit the registration certificate, identity proof, current address proof and active FASTag details. The residence must be verified as being within 20 kilometres of the plaza, and the vehicle must be privately registered and non-commercial.

Q5. Why do some records show Km 472 while others show Km 518.285?
