Gondkhairi Toll Plaza is a toll collection point on National Highway 53 in Nagpur district, Maharashtra. It serves vehicles travelling between Nagpur, Wadi, Gondkhairi, Kondhali, Amravati and other destinations on the Nagpur–Amravati corridor.
The plaza collects toll for the Nagpur–Kondhali highway section. It handles private cars, taxis, buses, light commercial vehicles, trucks and long-distance freight traffic using the east–west National Highway corridor.
The place name may be written as Gondkhairi, Gondhkhairi or Gondkhairi/Kondhali Toll Plaza. These descriptions generally refer to the same fee plaza near Gondkhairi, with FASTag plaza code 53001.
Older toll and highway records may show NH 6. Following the renumbering of National Highways, this Nagpur–Kondhali–Amravati route is now officially part of NH 53.

Gondkhairi Toll Plaza Rates
The following rates are applicable from October 1, 2025, through August 31, 2026. They remain current on August 6, 2026.
| Vehicle category | Single journey | Return journey | Monthly pass |
| Car, jeep or van | ₹55 | ₹85 | ₹1,675 |
| Light commercial vehicle | ₹100 | ₹145 | ₹2,925 |
| Bus or two-axle truck | ₹195 | ₹295 | ₹5,855 |

| HCM or EME | ₹420 | ₹625 | ₹12,545 |
| Seven or more axles | ₹315 | ₹470 | ₹9,410 |
A car, jeep or van pays ₹55 for one passage through Gondkhairi Toll Plaza.
An eligible outward and return journey costs ₹85 when the second crossing is completed within 24 hours using the same FASTag.
The standard monthly pass for a car, jeep or van costs ₹1,675. It is intended for frequent travellers and is different from the special local monthly pass available to eligible residents living within 20 kilometres of the plaza.
Single and Return-Journey Charges Explained
The ₹55 car charge applies to one crossing through Gondkhairi Toll Plaza.
The ₹85 return rate covers one outward crossing and one eligible return crossing. It does not mean that ₹85 is charged separately in both directions.
A typical FASTag transaction may appear as:
- First crossing: ₹55
- Eligible return crossing: ₹30
- Total charge for both crossings: ₹85
The same active FASTag should be used for both journeys.
If the vehicle returns after the permitted 24-hour period, the second crossing may be treated as another single journey and charged ₹55.
Drivers should keep both FASTag transaction messages until the return journey is complete. The message may show Gondkhairi, Gondhkhairi, Kondhali or plaza code 53001.
Local Resident Monthly Pass
A person living within 20 kilometres of Gondkhairi Toll Plaza may apply for a concessional monthly pass for a privately owned, non-commercial car, jeep or van.
The publicly available plaza tariff still displays ₹340 for the 2025–26 financial year. Because that figure belongs to the previous financial year, applicants should confirm the current 2026–27 charge with the plaza control room before paying.
Applicants may be required to provide:
- Vehicle registration certificate
- Aadhaar card or another identity document
- Current residential-address proof
- Active FASTag linked to the vehicle
- Registered mobile number
- Recent photograph
- Completed local-pass application
The toll administration must verify that the applicant lives within the prescribed 20-kilometre distance.
The pass is linked to one resident, vehicle and FASTag. A Nagpur-district registration number alone does not automatically qualify its owner for the concession.
Local Commercial Vehicle Concession
The current tariff publishes reduced single-journey charges for eligible commercial vehicles registered within the district of the toll plaza.
The listed local-commercial rates are:
- Car, jeep or van used commercially: ₹30
- Light commercial vehicle: ₹50
- Bus or two-axle truck: ₹100
- Up to three-axle vehicle: ₹155
- Four- to six-axle vehicle: ₹155
- HCM or EME: ₹210
- Seven or more axles: ₹155
A district registration number alone may not be sufficient. Eligibility can depend on the vehicle category, commercial permit, registered address, operating route, FASTag details and verification by the toll administration.
Taxi, bus, truck and goods-vehicle operators should contact the plaza control room before relying on the concession. The reduced amount applies only after the vehicle and FASTag have been correctly approved and configured.

The most suitable city-side connector depends on the starting location and traffic conditions. Follow signs for Amravati Road or NH 53.
8. From Katol
Travel towards Kalmeshwar and Gondkhairi, then join NH 53.
Choose the eastbound carriageway for Nagpur or the westbound carriageway for Kondhali and Amravati. Follow toll-plaza signs as the route approaches NH 53.
Gondkhairi and Selu Toll Plazas Are Different
Gondkhairi and Selu are separate toll plazas on different highway sections.
Gondkhairi Toll Plaza is on NH 53 and collects toll for the Nagpur–Kondhali section. Selu Toll Plaza is associated with the NH 547E Saoner–Dhapewada–Kalmeshwar–Gondkhairi section and has a different plaza code.
A journey using both highway sections can therefore produce two valid FASTag deductions. Compare the plaza names, codes, transaction times and route before reporting a duplicate charge.
Gondkhairi Village and the Toll Plaza Are Different Locations
Gondkhairi is also the name of the nearby locality, while Gondkhairi Toll Plaza is the fee-collection facility on NH 53.
A navigation search for Gondkhairi may show the village, local businesses, connecting roads or the toll plaza. Select the result marked Toll Plaza, Toll Gate, Fee Plaza or NH 53 when travelling to the toll facility.
The name Kondhali may appear in toll records because the plaza serves the Nagpur–Kondhali project section. It does not mean that the toll booths are in central Kondhali town.
FASTag and Payment Information
FASTag is the standard payment method at Gondkhairi Toll Plaza.
Before reaching the plaza, ensure that the FASTag:
- Is active and has sufficient balance
- Is correctly attached to the windscreen
- Is linked to the correct registration number
- Shows the correct vehicle category
- Has completed the required verification
- Is not damaged, suspended or blacklisted
Enter the lane slowly, maintain distance from the vehicle ahead and wait for the barrier to rise.
The transaction message may show Gondkhairi, Gondhkhairi, Kondhali or plaza code 53001.
An incorrect deduction can be reported through the FASTag-issuing bank, the Rajmarg Yatra application or National Highway helpline 1033.
FASTag Annual Pass
The NHAI FASTag Annual Pass costs ₹3,075 for the 2026–27 financial year.
It is available for eligible privately registered, non-commercial cars, jeeps and vans at participating National Highway and National Expressway fee plazas.
The pass remains valid for one year from activation or 200 eligible crossings, whichever occurs first.
Before relying on the Annual Pass at Gondkhairi, confirm that the plaza appears in the current eligible-plaza list and that activation is complete on the vehicle’s existing FASTag.
The Annual Pass is vehicle-specific and cannot be transferred to another vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Why do some records show NH 6 instead of NH 53?
NH 6 is the former highway number used in older toll and road records. After the national highway renumbering, the Nagpur–Kondhali–Amravati corridor became part of NH 53.
Q2. Why did FASTag deduct ₹55 first and ₹30 on the return?
For an eligible car return journey completed within 24 hours using the same FASTag, the first crossing is ₹55 and the return component is ₹30. Together they equal the published ₹85 return-journey rate.
Q3. Are Gondkhairi and Selu the same toll plaza?
No. Gondkhairi is on NH 53, while Selu is on the NH 547E Saoner–Dhapewada–Kalmeshwar–Gondkhairi section. They are separate plazas and can create separate valid deductions.
Q4. What is the current local monthly-pass charge?
The public Gondkhairi listing still shows ₹340 for 2025–26. Because that figure is from the previous financial year, eligible residents should confirm the current 2026–27 amount with the plaza control room on 8130006751 before applying or paying.
