Kumbalam Toll Plaza Rates

The following toll charges are applicable from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027.

Vehicle category Single journey Return journey Monthly pass Local commercial rate
Car, jeep or van ₹50 ₹70 ₹1,585 ₹25
Light commercial vehicle or minibus ₹75 ₹115 ₹2,560 ₹40
Bus or two-axle truck ₹160 ₹240 ₹5,365 ₹80

Heavy construction or earth-moving equipment ₹250 ₹380 ₹8,410 ₹125
Vehicle with seven or more axles ₹305 ₹460 ₹10,240 ₹155

A private car, jeep or van pays ₹50 for one crossing through Kumbalam Toll Plaza.

An eligible outward and return journey costs ₹70 when the return crossing is completed within 24 hours using the same FASTag.

The standard monthly pass for a car, jeep or van costs ₹1,585. This is intended for frequent travellers and is different from the concessional local-resident monthly pass.

Single and Return Charges Explained

The ₹50 car rate applies to one passage through Kumbalam Toll Plaza.

The ₹70 return rate covers one outward crossing and one eligible return crossing. It does not mean that ₹70 is deducted during each passage.

A normal FASTag transaction may appear as:

  • First crossing: ₹50
  • Return crossing within 24 hours: ₹20
  • Total charge for both crossings: ₹70

The same active FASTag should be used during both journeys.

When the vehicle returns after the permitted 24-hour period, the second passage may be treated as another single journey and charged ₹50.

Drivers should retain both FASTag transaction messages until the return journey has been completed.

Local Commercial Vehicle Rates

Reduced per-crossing rates are available for eligible commercial vehicles registered within the district where Kumbalam Toll Plaza is located.

For example, an approved locally registered commercial car may pay ₹25 instead of the normal ₹50 single-journey charge.

An Ernakulam district registration number may not activate the concession automatically. The vehicle owner may be required to submit:

  • Vehicle registration certificate
  • Valid commercial permit
  • Business or residential-address proof
  • Active FASTag linked to the vehicle
  • Proof of regular local operation
  • Completed concession application
  • Any additional document requested by the plaza office

The toll administration must verify the application before linking the reduced rate to the vehicle’s FASTag.

Local Resident Monthly Pass

A person living within 20 kilometres of Kumbalam Toll Plaza may apply for a concessional monthly pass for a privately owned, non-commercial car, jeep or van.

The local monthly-pass charge for FY 2026–27 is:

₹350 per month

Applicants may be required to provide:

  • Vehicle registration certificate
  • Aadhaar card or another identity document
  • Current residential-address proof
  • Active FASTag linked to the vehicle
  • Registered mobile number
  • Recent photograph
  • Completed local-pass application

The toll administration must verify that the applicant lives within the prescribed 20-kilometre distance.

The pass is linked to one resident, one vehicle and one FASTag. Merely living in Ernakulam district does not automatically qualify a person for the concession.

Residents of Kumbalam, Panangad, Aroor, Maradu, Nettoor and nearby areas should confirm eligibility with the toll office because qualification depends on measured distance and the address documents submitted.

Kumbalam and Kumbla Toll Plazas Are Different

Kumbalam Toll Plaza and Kumbla Toll Plaza are entirely different facilities.

Kumbalam Toll Plaza is in the Kochi region of Ernakulam district. It is situated on NH 66 near Aroor and carries plaza code 124001.

Kumbla Toll Plaza is near Kumbla in Kasaragod district, several hundred kilometres farther north.

The similarity in their English names can cause confusion in online searches and FASTag discussions.

When checking a transaction, look for:

  • Kumbalam or Aroor for the Kochi plaza
  • Ernakulam district
  • Plaza code 124001
  • Chainage Km 356.500

Kumbalam and Paliyekkara Toll Plazas Are Different

Paliyekkara Toll Plaza is in Thrissur district on NH 544.

Kumbalam Toll Plaza is south of Kochi on NH 66.

A vehicle travelling from Thrissur through Kochi and continuing towards Alappuzha may pay toll at both plazas depending on the route followed.

These deductions apply to different highways and should not automatically be treated as duplicate transactions.

FASTag and Payment Information

FASTag is the standard toll-payment method at Kumbalam Toll Plaza.

Before travelling, ensure that the FASTag:

  • Is active and has sufficient balance
  • Is properly attached to the windscreen
  • Is linked to the correct registration number
  • Shows the correct vehicle category
  • Has completed the required verification
  • Is not damaged, suspended or blacklisted

Maintain enough distance from the vehicle ahead while entering a toll lane. Following a bus or truck too closely may interfere with FASTag scanning.

A transaction message may display Kumbalam, Aroor, Kochi Aroor Tollways or plaza code 124001.

An incorrect deduction can be reported through:

  • The FASTag-issuing bank
  • RajmargYatra
  • National Highway helpline 1033
  • Kumbalam toll manager

Keep the transaction message, vehicle number, time of travel and plaza name while filing a complaint.

FASTag Annual Pass

The National Highway FASTag Annual Pass costs ₹3,075 for FY 2026–27.

It is available for eligible privately registered, non-commercial cars, jeeps and vans.

The pass remains valid for:

  • One year from activation; or
  • 200 eligible National Highway and National Expressway fee-plaza crossings,

whichever occurs first.

One passage through Kumbalam normally counts as one crossing. Passing through the plaza and later returning generally counts as two crossings.

Before depending on the Annual Pass, confirm through RajmargYatra that:

  • Kumbalam is shown as an eligible plaza
  • The vehicle is privately registered
  • The vehicle is non-commercial
  • Its category is car, jeep or van
  • The existing FASTag is active
  • Annual Pass activation has been completed successfully

The pass is activated on the existing FASTag and cannot be transferred to another vehicle.
